Youthful Skin In 5 Easy Steps

Youthful Skin In 5 Easy Steps

Is it really possible to keep our skin young looking? Well...the answer is Yes it is possible to keep our skin youthful looking and radiant  as time moves on.  The way to achieve it is by using anti-aging products that are right for our skin, in combination with professional treatments from competent beauty professionals.  This way, fine lines, wrinkles, and damage caused by the sun can be kept at bay for a longer time.

By not providing adequate protection for our skin, we allow the fine lines and wrinkles to make their appearance,  and brown spots begin to show which along with and rough skin areas caused by the exposure of the skin to the sun, start to give clues about our age.

As we age, the skin itself is not producing as much collagen, and definitely the level of hyaluronic acid production is diminishing.  Furthermore, dead skin cells are accumulating  at a faster rate, and do not invisibly fall off as previously.   It is natural of course that as our skin is subjected to the environmental elements, it is more likely to show aging signs.

SO...WHAT DO WE DO?

Here are the 5 important  (and easy) steps we should take to not only prevent, but also to start reversing the signs of aging.

Protection

This is very easy to do if you keep in mind that the number one enemy of the skin is the sun. ALWAYS wear your sunscreen, and make sure it is one with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 30  or higher.  And here I would like to stress that, while we take care of our face, we tend to forget  the skin on the rest of our body when out in the sun. your hands, arms, neck and decollete also need protection.  Try to wear lightweight long –sleeve shirts, a hat and proper sunglasses.

Moisturize

Protection also refers to guard against the loss of moisture which is essential for a healthy looking skin.  It is of the utmost importance that we fortify the skin using moisturizing products suitable for our skin.  For even better moisture replenishment I also advice using concentrated products such as ampoules or serums – prior to applying the moisturizing day cream – that will give a boost to replenishing  moisture and keeping the skin soft and supple.

Don’t  Forget your Vitamins

Especially using Vitamin A!  It is not by chance that vitamin A is also called the beauty vitamin.  Regular use of creams with vitamin A assist in collagen building in the skin which in turn will prevent the forming of fine lines and wrinkles, and in addition, will help lighten dark  skin spots.

Peptides

Peptides are chains of amino acids that are the building blocks of proteins in the skin. One important protein in our skin is collagen. Collagen gives our skin its thickness and suppleness. There are many, many types of peptides, but for skin care, there are specific peptides that are used widely. The most popular are collagen stimulating peptides, such as Matrixyl;

Matrixyl has showed some amazing qualities.  Clinical studies have showed that Matrixyl tremendously increases collagen and elastin production, as well as hyaluronic acid production in the skin.

Peel it Off

No matter how great the products you use are, if you do not perform a regular peeling (once a week or once every 10 days) then the products you use will not work – at least not as efficiently as they should.  Exfoliation removes those dead skin cells that are not removed by the regular every day cleansing of the skin.  This allows the moisturizers, as well as all other products, to penetrate into the skin’s deeper layers, and thus work much better.  I recommend that you follow the peeling with an ampoule (moisturizing, nutrition, etc) and then apply a good face mask.  Once you remove the mask apply your night cream.  I guarantee you that your skin will feel and most importantly look much more radiant and healthy looking the next day.
